About the event
Come join us and UCSF for a morning of habitat restoration activities, such as invasive species removal, and help restore Woodland Canyon Creek on Mount Sutro!
This creek begins at the Summit of Mount Sutro in two tributaries that converge in Woodland Canyon, flanked on one side by the Edgewood trail, and on the other side by the lower Historic trail. Some are lucky to hear this seasonal creek after a heavy rain, but it is never seen because it is hidden under so much overgrowth. Help us uncover it!
No experience necessary! Please wear clothes that can get dirty! Long pants and long-sleeved shirts to protect your legs and arms while working and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Please bring your own water!
**Some work areas may have poison oak and arriving in appropriate clothing limits exposure risk. If you have a known sensitivity, please alert a crew leader prior to starting work.**
We will meet in the Woods Lot at 100 Medical Center Way, please arrive earlier if this is your first time volunteering with us to sign waivers. Parking is available in the parking lot of this address. Pizza lunch and beverages will be provided at the end of the day from 12:30pm-1:30pm.Â
Once you RSVP, we will be reaching out to you with a more in depth info packet and two participation waivers.
Please email info@sutrostewards.org with any questions or concerns!
